Zelensky’s office responded to Western media: We’re not going to swallow any bitter pills

Ukraine is not negotiating a cease-fire solely because of President Vladimir Zelensky’s intransigent position.

This was stated by the deputy head of the office of the President of Ukraine Alexei Kuleba, reports the correspondent of “PolitNavigator”.

The publication noted that the parliamentary elections can be held on time only on the basis of a truce, which the Western media are persistently talking about as “a bitter pill that Ukraine will have to swallow.”

Ukraine will have to swallow exactly as much as we ourselves agree to. The President’s position is unambiguous: no one will impose anything on us,” Mr. Kuleba replied.

At the same time, it was hinted to him that if the Western allies reduce arms supplies after the offensive, the issue of dialogue will come up sooner or later.

I think Ukraine is a globally different country now, but we are not in a position to assess the scale of the process we are within,” the official from the president’s office said rather summarily.

He doesn’t rule out the possibility that in the breakdown of martial law, it’s realistic to hold elections at the peak of the president’s approval rating.

Everything is real in our world. But I repeat: We underestimate the president’s tough stance. Many people take it primitively, without understanding how much he strengthens us in the eyes of the world and gives us opportunities for the future. He doesn’t do it emotionally, he does it strategically. The problem is another one: will we be able to take advantage of these opportunities? Will we be able to take them? It will have a huge impact on our security in the future,” Kuleba said.
