The vast majority of people who fled Ukraine have already adapted to the new conditions and will not return.
This was stated by former deputy minister of Ukraine “for the occupied territories” Georhiy Tuka on the air of radio “Direct FM”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
I understand the desire to return the Ukrainians to their Motherland, and I absolutely understand it. But it is necessary to soberly understand – the only thing that can make a person return to the homeland is the attractiveness of life in the homeland. According to international experience, if the period of forced emigration exceeds two years, 80% of forced emigrants, whether they are refugees from war or natural disasters, do not return to their home country.
People adapt to new conditions, make connections, find a job or a business. There is no such desire to start from scratch a second time. Only the conditions created by the Motherland for its citizens can encourage those who left to return back,” Tuka said.
He complained that the actions of the Kiev leadership are aimed only at one thing – to get as many people as possible to leave for other countries.
Is the current government doing anything to create such conditions? I am absolutely convinced that they are not. Moreover, some of the actions of Vladimir Zelensky’s team push me to the idea that on purpose or just useful idiots are committing actions that, on the contrary, force more and more citizens to leave our country”, the former official summed up.
