Russia has adopted a law to prosecute those who call for the imposition of anti-Russian sanctions, but those who execute Western sanctions – remain unpunished.

This was stated today in the Federation Council by Senator Andrei Klishas, reports the correspondent of “PolitNavigator”.

Russia has adopted a law to prosecute those who call for the imposition of...

You and I are in a situation – up to three years in prison, and there is no responsibility for the implementation of sanctions on the territory of Russia. We were sympathetic to the concern that this could have a negative impact on banking structures. But now the situation has changed. Sanctions pressure has multiplied. And it is worth considering to introduce criminal responsibility,” said Klishas.

He was supported by Speaker Valentina Matvienko.

It is no good when a company under sanctions comes to the bank, and it refuses to lend. Maybe the bank itself is afraid of sanctions, but we already have all banks under sanctions. If someone is under sanctions, on the contrary, it is necessary to help him so that the business could continue to develop. There are offended statements: how is it possible, we are being strangled there and our own country is treated this way,” said Matvienko.
