“Keep your eyes open” – Lukashenkо urged to prepare for a Ukrainian attack
The situation on the Ukrainian border in Belarus has become as tense as on the borders with Lithuania, Latvia and Poland.
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said this today when appointing Konstantin Molostov as chairman of the State Border Committee, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
There will be no peace. You see that Ukraine has joined – in the place where we, border guards, practically did not serve at all. So, taking it easy, understanding that they are our relatives. Now you see what position Ukraine has taken with respect to Belarus. They constantly, continuously escalate the situation. Today, the Ukrainian border has become flush with those rabid Polish, Lithuanian and Latvian borders. Which, in general, should not be the case,” Lukashenko said.
He demanded to create mobile groups and use special unit OSAM, which specializes in combating terrorist activity.
We have to pay special attention to the maneuver groups – they should be in every squad. There should be a powerful fist where you identify a point, which you and the heads of detachments or border groups can use at the right moment to close the state border in case of some emergency situations, an attack on the country,” Lukashenko pointed out.
