Air communication with Russia won’t be stopped any more
The resumption of air links between Moscow and Tbilisi allegedly threatens to destroy the Georgian statehood.
Marta Ardasheli, editor-in-chief of Georgian online Russophobe journal SOVA, made this claim, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to her, the Georgian government is behaving like “traitors and turncoats of their own country”.
She was asked what the reaction of Georgian society might be to the resumption of flights.
Not only will the flights not stop, today the second airline has already received a license – this is RedWings. The Georgian company Georgian Airways received a license to fly to Russia. So there are no illusions that these flights will stop,” laments Ardashelia.
She hopes the Georgian public may be influenced by sanctions or warnings from the West.
If official Tbilisi suddenly takes a risk and starts saying that we intend to restore diplomatic relations with Russia, then heads will probably fly in Tbilisi,” she says.
According to her, the price for the warming of relations between Moscow and Tbilisi is “a complete surrender of Georgian statehood and complete surrender of the independence and sovereignty of this country.
Today the first plane to Moscow in four years left Tbilisi. Starting May 20, Georgian Airways planes will fly from Tbilisi to Moscow to Tbilisi every day.
